Most of the bricks are down, just some of the bricks that need to be cut left.

Day 283 of 365

We started adding the bricks (the patio will be 20' x 28', with a 8' x 8' deck in the corner).

Day 282 of 365

We spent the day taking turns guiding this "Wacker Packer" around, it is all level and packed now.  (My youngest son took the picture of me.)

Day 281 of 365

6.5 cubic yards of gravel was delivered this morning. It took my two sons and myself about 70 wheelbarrow loads and almost 4 hours to move it to the backyard.

Day 276 of 365

A bit of rain and warm weather and the garden has really taken off. We are just eating lettuce, radishes and onions so far, but it is wonderful.

Day 275 of 365

There is a family of Mourning Doves in our yard, and this is one of the two babies - they are miniature copies of their parents, and don't seem too afraid of us (this one was about an arms length away).

Our little houseguest came with some fancy shoes.

Day 272 of 365

My son and I added a couple more feet to the width of this garden today and I panted another tree and some shrubs, just need to add some flowers in there now.

Day 271 of 365

Finished another little quilt.

Missed Day 269 of 365

I meant to post this picture on Friday, but the day got away (busy sewing and Skypeing during the Friday Night Sew In), and I forgot (thanks for letting me know Maxine).
We are looking after a dog for three weeks, and she keeps me company while I sew.

Day 270 of 365

The roses are doing really well this year - lots of buds.

Day 268 of 365

Sorry about the bad picture, I was peeking through the screen door to get a photo of a pair of robins feeding their two babies this morning. The babies are as big as the adults and followed them around, calling loudly for food.

Day 267 of 365

I am quilting my first non-family member quilt - a bit nerve racking. The fabric is from Africa.

Day 266 of 365

The tiniest of the baby bunnies in our yard (we think there are 3 baby bunnies along with the 3 adults)

Day 265 of 365

I started a new hand sewing project - 72 red hexagons, all different fabrics. It will end up being a little table mat.
100 days left - hard to believe.

Day 262 of 365

There are lots of monarch butterflies around this year, but this is a black swallowtail butterfly (he never stopped moving and it was hard to take a picture) - just beautiful.

Day 261 of 365

A baby robin left the nest - mom and dad were close by too.

Day 259 of 365

Another project on the go - a new deck and patio.

Day 256 of 365

A hummingbird got caught in the garage today. He just kept trying to fly up and was in the garage for hours. We finally caught him in a net and released him outside - he just flew straight up until we couldn't see him anymore.

Day 255 of 365

We went for a little bike ride this evening.

Another quick picture - this is my SIL's condo that we helped paint a couple of weeks ago. We had picked the beige colour together and while we were painting I convinced her that she needed a pop of colour for the kitchen - it is a lovely, warm terracotta colour. Thank goodness she really likes it - I was worried at first.
