A beautiful day to be outside (my oldest son is on the trampoline, my youngest son and husband are watching).

We went to my parents today, about 1+1/2 north from our home. It was cold and rainy, so I took a picture  through the window - Lake Winnipeg is through those trees (the building on the right is their garage).

My son pulled this tree out today, the roots had rotted off. (The neighbour drains their sump pump in our yard and we have lost a few trees - we have asked them to stop, but no luck.)

My oldest son makes supper every Wednesday, tonight it was salmon on the barbeque.

A Goldfinch hit a window today and was laying unconscious on the front step. I warmed him in my hands for about 10 minutes (and admired his incredible beauty). I was so relieved when he eventually flew away.
The Goldfinches have just migrated back, and I saw the first one yesterday - a good sign that summer is here.

I planted all the seeds in the vegetable garden today (I think this is the earliest in the year I have ever planted).

Prepared my next quilting project. This is a quilt that my mother and I pieced.

We painted at my sister in law's today. She lives in a large metropolitan city, and this is the view from her condo. In the photo there are a few families of Canada geese (one family with 4 babies), a couple of mallards and some turtles basking on the log on the opposite shore. We also saw a ground hog, a rabbit and a pair of wood ducks.

Finished piecing a Double Wedding Ring quilt - it was much easier than I expected (lots of detail on my main blog).

Still sewing rings (for a Double Wedding Ring quilt), but at least all the fabric is cut now.

I went to a great quilt show today - there are lots of pictures on my main blog.

I have now sewn over half of the arcs that I need for the Double Wedding Ring quilt - it is getting easier.

My nephew looked after a friend's dog on Monday, and today it was a friend's chicken. Of course we had to go visit.

I started a new project, but I think it might be difficult.

We had a lovely little sun shower this afternoon - the drops of water on the tree were like diamonds.
